The Priestly Blessing
“아론과 그의 아들들에게 말하여 이르기를 너희는 이스라엘 자손을 위하여 이렇게 축복하여 이르되
여호와는 네게 복을 주시고 너를 지키시기를 원하며
여호와는 그 얼굴로 네게 비취사 은혜 베푸시기를 원하며
여호와는 그 얼굴을 네게로 향하여 드사 평강 주시기를 원하노라 할지니라 하라“
(민 6:24-27).
“Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying,
Thus you shall bless the people of Israel: you shall say to them,
The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;
the Lord lift up his countenance[a] upon you and give you peace.
“So shall they put my name upon the people of Israel, and I will bless them.”

제사장의 축복은 과거 성전 시대에 성전 제사를 마치고 매일 아침 제사장들이 백성들을 향해 선포했던 기도입니다. 오늘날 많은 회당에서 예배를 마칠 때 축도로 이 말씀을 선포합니다. 특히 절기 때는 예루살렘 서쪽 벽에서 제사장의 후예들이 모여 제사장의 축복을 선포합니다.
THE PRIESTLY BLESSING: Traditionally, the priests blessed the people every morning after the sacrifice at the Temple. Today, many synagogues end their service with this blessing as a benediction. Especially, during the major Jewish holiday, the descendants of the priests bless people in the Western wall, Jerusalem.
